What's going on with the X Factor

What a strange week, after sillily booting off 2 contestants last week, they had to chuck out Frankie, mid-week, for drug taking... Thus leaving them with only 6 contestants with 7 weeks to go.

Okay I have 2 issues; firstly on Saturday they tried to cover up the Frankie thing, and say he decided to leave the competition... My second issue is that on voting Amelia back in, she was then immediately up for the public vote. I thought this was unfair, she should have a free week. It would have been embarrassing if she'd been back for only 1 night... Anyway she's staying in thankfully.

And what was the power cut technical difficulties about last night, and why did they not put up a message saying that. And who new the BT Tower had so much control over itv's live TV output. Publicity stunt?

All views I express on-line are my own and not the views of this company.

All you can eat breakfast

This morning I had an all you can eat breakfast at Toby Carvery in Basildon's Festival Leisure Park. I'll give it 7 / 10. The restaurant is lovely and so are the staff - so there is good service. However the availability of the food, quality of the food and value for money weren't as good as I would have hoped.

When I went up they had nearly run out of plates. And a number of the things they had run out of or were running low on e.g. no fried eggs, tomatoes, running low on bacon and potato. But I guess I came at the wrong time, and they did quickly replenish most of the items.

The bacon was nice, but I would have preferred it to be less fatty and more crispy. The sausage was okay, fried egg was good, and so was the potato, hash brown, and beans and black pudding. However the scrambled egg was horrible. Overall the breakfast wasn't quite as nice as I would have liked it. For example the bacon and the fried eggs were very fatty. There doesn't appear to be a help yourself continental breakfast / cereal -  I would have loved some granola and yoghurt.

Then the value - I asked for both coffee and orange, thinking it would be inclusive in the price for the breakfast - well it wasn't. So above the basic price of the breakfast it ended up being quite expensive.

However the food is okay, some of it very nice. But with the really nice surroundings and service I think it would be a nice venue to take a group of mates for a cooked breakfast. I intend to eat there again. It isn't as good as the Grand Lux in the Venetian in Vegas though :-(
