Genius playlist not appearing

Since the 5.0.1 iOS release, the Genius playlist function has disappeared from some iPhone owners iPhones. It is suspected that is is related to iTunes Match, however iTunes Match has not been turned on, on the device that is experiencing difficulties. The Genius playlist was available before the 5.0.1 software upgrade.

One chap thinks he has found a work around...

1) Select a song to play in Music (must be a song downloaded to the iPhone, not streamed)
2) Once it starts, close Music (home button)
3) Kill Music (app launcher)
4) Restart Music (will open to the song you had playing before)
5) Atomic symbol re-appears...

Another fix someone found whilst navigating the Apple Support communities is to turn off Match on the iPhone...

Also note;

- Apple does officially state this in the iTunes Help: "Note: If you subscribe to iTunes Match, Genius is turned off"
- Another user said; "I'm seeing the same thing. When I disabled Match on my phone this morning, the Genius functionality came back. Re-enabled Match, Genius disappeared. What a bummer."

So the Apple engineers are on the bug, Genius does not work if using iTunes Match and there are some potential workarounds, I do hope that helps. I'd love to hear if you're experienced something similar or found a workaround.
